Grade 5 Art - Pop Art

 The grade 5 classes have been working on a new pop art lesson based on the art of Romero Britto. Romero Britto is a Brazilian-American Neo-pop artist, painter, serigrapher, and sculptor. He combines elements of cubism, pop art and graffiti painting in his work

Grade 9 Yarn Painting The grade 9 art classes are just finishing up some really interesting art work which explores the concept of line by using yarn to draw/paint with yarn.  The Huichol Indians of Mexico are known for their yarn paintings. The Huichols take beeswax which they melt in the sun, and spread it over a piece of wood. They then push coloured yarn into the wax to create images. We created our own yarn painting using glue and scraps of yarn!   Click the first image to see a slideshow of some of the finished pieces from 9A an 9B.
